We design and develop ASIC chips in the latest process technologies such as 7nm and 16nm and are moving to even smaller nodes. Our four generations of high-speed communication ASICs include the industry’s first ACM-capable DVB-S2 ASIC that enables broadband satellite equipment like SCPC modems, customer-premises equipment (CPEs), gateways, and VSATs.

We partner with you to integrate the synthesizable and verified soft RTL-based cores with your platform. Soft cores offer an advantage when you need limited product quantities and when system efficiency can’t be compromised.
Our IP cores are proven in ASICs and FPGAs and:

- Are customizable for WiMAX, 3GPP, GPON, DOCSIS® applications
- Are capable of supporting high data rates close to 1Tbps (1 Terabits/sec) in optical applications
Our signal processing techniques are among the most advanced in the communication industry. We’ve developed waveforms including higher-order modulation schemes and advanced FECs to overcome optical transport media channel impairments and signal degradation. We have implemented waveforms with DQPSK, OQPSK, 8PSK, 16APSK, and 128QAM that are readily portable to optical channels pushing 100 Gbps and more.
Viasat has successfully executed and demonstrated coherent optical ASIC products for over 10 years. Our satellite technologies are proven to be a great value by providing advantages over traditional techniques used by merchant optical ASIC.
For the storage market we provide forward error correction (FEC) with a high coding gain and small footprint. Choose from multiple FEC architectures – Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH), turbo product codes (TPC), low-density parity codes (LDPC), and convolutional turbo codes (CTC) – based on data rate, coding gain and design size needs. We also deliver proven field programmable gate array (FPGA) cores.
